For the sake of posterity!

Honestly, I don't expect anyone to read this very long and very overdue post. But since I have some motiviation to get last year's blog done and published, I need to finalize our 2008. I need to catch up on some great memories before they are vanished from my mind forever...which has probably already happened to some degree!

We did some really fun things at the end of December that was special for our family, and will hopefully become somewhat of a tradition in years to come. One of the things that we did was take the kids to Arizona to ride on the "Polar Express" train. My boys (like so many other kids) LOVE the Polar Express movie, and it plays at our house frequently during the Christmas months. So the Keslers and the Morgans, along with my brother, Dustin and his family (who lives in Arizona) agreed to go on this adventure with us, and the kids LOVED it. Marci, Michelle and I (okay, it was mostly Marci) had decided to make the kids all matching jammies and warm hats, and they turned out darling. They thought it was so cool that they got to ride the train in their jammies, and couldn't sit still for most of the train ride. We sang Christmas carols, we drank hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies, and got to see Santa, who gave each child their own jingle bell. Christmas magic was definitely in the air for the kids!

We also went to a bunch of sights in the Grand Canyon the next day, and saw some beautiful canyons, ruins, towers, etc. The Morgans stuck the day out with us, and I think the kids had a great time doing some short hiking, and seeing all that the canyons had to offer. I think some of the deep canyons scared the boys a little bit, but they were also very intruiged. I hope we get to go back and do more hiking with them when they get a little older, and don't give me such a heart attack when walking near the guarded fences.

We also went and saw Santa come and the "first snow fall" at Town Square this year. Jackson and Max were in awe of all the fake snow that started to fall, but we all great quickly tired of it and there was so much, it started to make us sick by the end of the night. We also went and saw the lights out at Ethel M's, which the kids always love doing. They were on a sugar high that night or something!

We also bought the ginger bread house kits this year, and the kids had a BLAST decorating their own houses and I'm sure will always ask each year to do these. I must say decorating the pre-made ones were much easier than doing them from scratch!

Impressive post! And Max looks so grown up- even in the last 8 months! He's about to look even older compared to baby #3.
